Halifax, Nova Scotia—where natural beauty meets vibrant culture
Built on the shores of one of the world’s largest deep-water harbours, Halifax offers the perfect mix of stunning scenery and city life. As Atlantic Canada’s largest centre, it is the very heart of culture, commerce and arts in the region and is located within a few hours of other Atlantic centres in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Plenty to see!Walk the Halifax waterfront and experience this world-class port’s energy and excitement. Stand oceanside as ships arrive from points all over the world. Or take a contemplative stroll in the city’s Public Gardens. Founded in 1867, these stunning formal Victorian gardens have become an oasis in the centre of Halifax. Why not explore Point Pleasant Park in the city’s south end? Thirty-nine kiolmetres of meandering trails lead through cool woods, among military ruins and along sandy beaches.
History comes aliveTake a journey through the past at Citadel Hill, one of Canada’s most popular historic sites.
